1. What is progressive 3D model?

The progressive 3D model is a continuous-resolution representation of the 3D objects. The models are updated vertex by vertex as the file being downloaded. You don't need to download the entire files to get an idea what models look like. And you can stop downloading anytime you want.

2. How do I set up the browser to handle progressive 3D files?

  1. Open Windows Explorer
  2. Choose View...Folder options

3. Click "New Type..." and enter in the following:

Description of type: Progressive Model File
Associated extension: .jgt
Content Type (MIME): application/progressive-model
Default Extension for Content Type:.jgt

4. Add a new action by clicking "New..."


5. Action: Open
Click "Browse..." and select "browser.exe"

6.  Repeat this process for one more "Progressive Model File".
Click "New Type..." again and enter in the following:

Description of type: Progressive Model File
Associated extension:  .gtl
Content Type (MIME): application/progressive-model
Default Extension for Content Type:.jgt

And add a new action "Open" as in step 4.

3. How do I view the progressive files. 

Just Click the filenames (.gtl) on Progressive3DModel page and the models will be updated progressively on your browser.

To download the actual files, please click .jgt files.
