Biography

I am a PhD candidate in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Cornell University. I am advised by Prof. Tsuhan Chen and I am a member of the Advanced Multimedia Processing Lab. I am interested in the areas of computer vision and machine learning. My research focus is on interactive computer vision algorithms - putting the user in the loop intelligently by leveraging the power of the automatic algorithm.

I transferred to Cornell at the start of Spring 2009, before which I had a small stint at Carnegie Mellon University. In my one semester there, I took a few courses, worked with Prof. Tsuhan Chen and Dr. Yao-Jen Chang at the Advanced Multimedia Processing Lab at CMU and made some wonderful friends.

Before coming to the US, I completed my undergraduate studies at RV College of Engineering, Bangalore, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication. I then worked for an year with Ittiam Systems, in Bangalore.

In addition to my research, I am passionate about music (fusion) and sports (badminton). I try to keep that alive with my studies.
